Fun with Boys!
Keegan got a fishing pole for going poop on the potty. He was so excited to use it, so I set up a little "pool" in the kitchen.Truitt started rice cereal last week and then had his first "real food" last night. He seems to really like food. He has sweet potatoes last night.

Isn't he a cute boy? He was playing in his exersaucer and smiling at me. I just couldn't resist this picture. It is really hard to get pictures of him. Whenever he is doing something cute I pull out the camera/video camera and he stops whatever it was that he was doing. He will just look at me with this puzzled look, like "why are you pointing that thing at me?"

A Crabby Father's Day!
What with working late nights on the books and all, I don't often get the chance to keep up on the things I want to do. Blogging for my family site is one of them. So tonight's post will be a VERY LATE entry about one of the most enjoyable days I have had with my family in a long time.
Fathers Day 2008 started out as good as you could want. The sun was shinning at last and we were heading to the zoo as a family. Angela, Keegan, Truitt and I were joined by Angela's sister Lindy and her two boys for a morning trek up to Woodland Park Zoo. After fighting (and I do mean fighting) for what seemed like the last two parking spaces at the zoo we skipped the line (using our Toledo Zoo memberships...la de da!) and entered the the zoo entrance shortly before noon. Once inside, a surprise awaited us as the kids (Truitt included) all received a free Frog stuffed animal.
We scouted out a great picnic spot to feed the troops and then promptly headed out to explore the zoo. We had a great time, and the boys were well mannered (for the most part!) There were some cool new exhibits with Flamingo's and the Gorillas there have never disappointed.
By the time we wrapped up at the zoo the boys were all VERY ready for naps and so Lindy and her clan started down the road for home. As Angela and I sat in the car we decided on the spot to just let Keegan nap in the car and head for dinner on the waterfront. We ended up at The Crab Pot a very fun (but spendy) restaurant that serves excellent seafood. As you can see from the picture below we opted for the meal that required wooden mallets and over sized bibs. Keegan got a kick out of it!

We had a super fun time at dinner and finished the evening by watching the boats on the waterfront, exploring a Pirate shop, petting horses and eating ice cream.
It was the best crabby father's day I've ever had!
Thanks family!

Bottles

I'm sure you have all heard the recent reports of Bisphenol-A (BPA) and the possible leaching that may take place in plastic products. Acidic drinks and heat increase this leaching. I have decided to replace the bottles that we drink out of. This doesn't just mean I have replaced Truitt's baby bottles (not that he drinks out of a bottle very often), but I have replaced bottles that each of our family members drink out of. All of the bottles that I have recently purchased came with high reviews from friends. Chris and I are now proud owners of Camelbak bottles, Keegan now has a Sigg metal bottle and Truitt has Born Free bottles.

Changes
I am trying to make some changes in our diet. I want to be more aware of what we are eating and try to make some healthier choices. I have decided to cut out High Fructose Corn Syrup (as much as possible) among many other things. While doing so, I have found some great (yummy) alternatives. I will try to share some of them as I find them. We were at Babies R Us last night and I found these great natural lollipops made by Yummy Earth. I didn't feel so bad giving Keegan a treat and we were really surprised at how good they tasted.
