Christmas and Birthday

We had a wonderful Christmas. We enjoyed spending time with family and the gifts were an extra special treat. The boys were so much fun this year. Keegan kept repeating "this is the best Christmas ever." Truitt loved each gift he got. He was so excited about each one that he actually cried when we tried to take it away so he could open the next one. He finally got into it though and had a blast. We consider ourselves very blessed!

We celebrated Truitt's 2nd birthday yesterday. It was a great party with family and friends. When Truitt woke up Sat. morning the first words out of his mouth were "happy." He was trying to tell us that it was Happy Birthday. He then showed Chris how to blow (blow out candles) and immediately pointed to his mouth. He was ready to blow out candles and eat cake.

Today was his actual birthday. We had a great day together as a family just taking it easy.

We love our little man. He is so opinionated. He definitely knows what he wants. Someday that will prove to be a huge asset for him. It is very obvious that he loves his family. I love the little kisses he gives and the big grunts he makes as he trys to squeeze us hard as he hugs us. Most days he asks for Keegan and Daddy first thing when he wakes up from his nap. He loves his cars and balls. He is definitely a little boy! Truitt, I think God for you and can't wait to see what he has in store for you this next year!!! Happy 2nd Birthday, Snugga!!!!!

Happy Birthday Chris!

Today is Chris' birthday. He is the best husband I could ask for. I love to watch him interact with our boys. He loves them so much and it is very evident. Chris works hard to support us and we are very thankful for that! I love his sense of humor, his amazing imagination, his love of God and dedication to his family. Thank you for all you do for us Chris! We love you! Enjoy your special day!!!!

Growing Up!

My little boy is 4 today! How does the time go so quickly? It seems like just yesterday I was in labor waiting (not so patiently) for my little boy to enter the world. I can still remember most of the details of that long night. At 8:42AM the dr. finally pulled you out of my womb. I was excited to finally see you, but boy was I exhausted. It wasn't exactly the birth I had dreamed about, but I wouldn't change anything. God knew that you would enter the world via c-section. All that matters is that I was blessed with my healthy little boy!!!

I have been blessed with so many wonderful experiences as your Mommy. You never cease to amaze me! You are such a loving, nurturing, cuddly, creative little boy. Just thinking about who God created you to be puts a huge smile on my face. I love to watch as you create new things or explore the wonderful world around us. Your eagerness to absorb all things is contagious. I have learned many things along side you. Thank you for keeping me on my toes. My faith has continued to grow as I pursue God's guidance in how to be the best Mommy I can be. The most rewarding part has been watching you hide God's word in your heart. I love the fact that you enjoy learning about God and that you are able to tell others about Him. It melts my heart when you pray for your brother's (or others) salvation. I know that you will play a special part in making sure that Truitt falls in love with the Savior also.

Happy Birthday Keegan!

No, it's not actually Keegan's birthday, but it is his spiritual birthday. Yes, you read that right. Keegan now has a spiritual birthday. Tuesday night as Chris was putting Keegan to bed they were talking about how he needs to be better at obeying. We have been talking about doing the right thing lately. Keegan knows that when he does the wrong thing it is called sin and that it makes Mommy, Daddy and Jesus very sad. He also knows that Jesus took away all our sins when he died for us (on the cross). He then said "Daddy I don't have Jesus in my heart." Chris asked him if he wanted Jesus to be in his heart and he replied "yes!" Chris then helped him pray a simple prayer that went something like this..."Dear God, please take away all my bad things and come into my heart."

Nothing moves me more than to see my precious little boy want to obey Christ. He may not understand the importance of that simple little prayer or what it means to be a follower of Christ, but he will continue to learn and grow in his faith. I cry when I think about the fact that my son will one day be in heaven with us. That is an answer to my prayers and a reason to rejoice!!!!

Feb. 5th will be a very special day in our house! We now have another birthday to celebrate every year!!! :)

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Our day started, very early, with a sweet little boy coming into our room very excited to wish his daddy a happy birthday. That's right, Keegan came bounding into our room at 5:30 this morning shouting "Happy Birthday Daddy!"

Our day was much like any other. Chris headed off to work for a few hours. He returned home very early, to help take Truitt to the dr. Our dear little boy had his circumcision performed today. He was such a trooper! Then it was back to work for Chris.

This evening we took Chris out to dinner. He decided that he would like to have some friends join us for dinner, so he called Pastor Ryan to see if he and his family would like to join us for a birthday celebration. Keegan was very excited to have Pastor Ryan, teacher Amy & his good friend Rylie join us for dinner. It was a great night of fellowship. We are blessed with great friends!

Happy Birthday Chris! I thank God for you. You work so hard to provide for our family, both physically and spiritually. God has truly blessed us with an amazing daddy and husband. Life with you has been an adventure and we have created many great memories. I look forward to all that God has in store for us. I love you!
